Often, get companies looking to develop an application for the enterprise sector and are wondering what phones that they should support. If your company is everywhere but no America wont say RIM and Nokia S60. For the United States, RIM is the primary device.
InvestorPlace very recently released some research from ChangeWave mobile operating systems used by companies.
It is interesting to see that between May and August 2010, iOS gained 1%, RIM has lost 3% and Android gained 6%.I'm also surprised Windows-Mobile is so low, as was used by the enterprise for a long time now because of tight integration in Outlook and excellent device management.
The article doesn't say which countries were "1602" in Enterprise IT buyers but I suspect you US/n. America because Nokia S60 wasn't even asked/spoken. If this poll was asked in Europe I would expect Nokia S60 to be between RIM and iOS figures.
Also, don't forget to often people use their cell phone or a phone purchased for the charge for businesses so that the actual mobile OS share used for (as opposed to provided by) business market might be very different.
As with many projects of enterprise (and non-enterprise), usually recommend a survey of what phones are actually used by users of destination before embarking on new mobile development.
